White Chicken Chili



1 tablespoon oil
1 lb cooked chicken, cubed
1 medium onion, chopped
1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 cans 15 1/2 oz Great Northern beans, drained and rinsed
1 can 14 1/2 oz chicken broth
1 can 4oz chopped green chilies
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cumin
 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream or half-and-half.

Cook the onions in the oil until tender. Add the rest of the ingredients except sour cream and heavy whipping cream. Cook uncovered for 30 minutes simmering. Remove from heat and add sour cream and whipping cream. If it is too runny, add a heaping tablespoon of cornstarch dissolve in 2 tablespoons of water.

Garnish:

Shredded Cheddar cheese
Doritos or tortilla chips.
Chopped fresh cilantro
