Boston Brown Bread

Home baking with Robin Hood Flour


Dry Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups stone ground whole wheat flour or Graham flour
1/4 cup yellow cornmeal
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 cup dark molasses
1/2 cup regular sugar
1 egg
1 cup milk

Mix both mixtures in different bowls. Then, mix it altogether. Add 3/4 cup raisins.

Grease and lightly flour a 9x5 loaf pan. Pour the mixture into the pan.

Bake in a preheated 325 oven for 55-60 minutes, Cool down in the pan for 5 minutes, Unmold and place in a cooling rack.

Serve warm or cool completely and wrap well in plasctic wrap and slice the next day.
