Pecan Spice Drops

1 cup butter, melted
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp each ground cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and allspice
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups chopped pecans.

In a mixing bowl combine butter and sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, spices and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture.
Stir in pecans. Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350F for 12 to 14 minutes (I bake them for 11 minutes) or until edges are firm. Remove to wire racks to cool.

Note: If the dough is too stiff, add 2 tablespoons water and mix well.

Makes 4 1/2 dozen
