Orange Waffles with Mandarin Orange Sauce




Waffles:

2 cups Bisquick 1 tablespoon sugar 1 egg beaten 1 1/4 cups milk 2 tablespoons melted butter 3/4-1 tablespoon grated orange zest. Prepare waffles according to the waffle maker instructions. Serve hot with the sauce on top.

Orange Sauce:

1 cup orange juice 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch 1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar 1 can (15 oz) mandarin oranges, drained Mix the orange juice, sugar and cornstarch. Cook on medium heat stirring constantly until the sauce thickens. Remove from the stove and add the mandarin oranges. Stir gently.
